Meet GM of Assessing & Repairs, Daniel Fairall

Daniel’s journey in the motor industry began two decades ago when he embarked on a dual apprenticeship as a spray painter and panel beater. This built the foundations of Daniel’s knowledge in the repair space and kick-started his career.

After completing his apprenticeship, Daniel was appointed as an assessor at Suncorp. Here, he progressed through the ranks to take on numerous roles that facilitated the expansion of his skillset. As an assessing performance advisor, Daniel provided coaching, technical support, and advice on repair methods to his team.

He later moved to a role working directly with panel shop owners and improving their overall repair performance. This included reducing repair timeframes and staff training.

Daniel was appointed Manager of Motor Claims, overseeing motor assessors and a supply chain across half the Sydney metropolitan region. Daniel worked directly with panel shop owners in this role to improve their performance. He was also responsible for customer, cost, and compliance outcomes.

Daniel joined the Hello Claims team in 2021 as General Manager of Assessing & Repairs, where he specialises in repair network management and assessing performance. Daniel’s extensive experience across 20 years in the industry, along with his experience at some of Australia’s largest insurers before his time with Hello Claims, ensures a sound and qualified repair culture is developed and embedded as Hello Claims grows its operations.

Daniel holds a Certificate IV in Motor Assessing, iCAR qualifications and is a platinum iCAR individual.

What difference did you notice with Hello Claims compared to other providers?

“The biggest difference for me coming from a large insurer is the oversight. Seeing a lot more granular activity on what is happening within the assessing teams, being able to own those performance conversations and identify areas where we need to work on, or where we do not need to work on,” said Daniel.
