Claims handling for insurance products is now a financial service. From 1 January 2022 claims handlers are required to have authorisation under an Australian financial service licence (AFSL) to provide claims handling and settling services, or to have become an authorised representative of a relevant AFSL holder.
Claimants are entitled to ask whether those who are providing assistance to them in handling claims are licensed.
Hello Claims is one of the first motor assessing and repair providers in Australia to attain authorisation to provide claims handling and settling services as a corporate authorised representative.
What does this mean?
Hello Claims is obliged to assess and repair motor vehicles in a timely manner, in the least onerous and intrusive way possible, deliver services fairly and transparently, and in a way that supports customers, particularly those experiencing vulnerability or financial hardship.
How does this benefit you?
You have the comfort of knowing Hello Claims is appropriately authorised to provide services such as preparing estimates of loss or damage, or likely repair costs.
Being an authorised financial services provider is a strong indication of our commitment to meeting higher benchmarks around quality of repairs, compliance, training, and dispute resolution. Hello Claims takes responsibility for meeting these higher standards to enable our customers to receive excellent service.
Have you considered the standards of your motor assessing and repair provider? Do you know if they hold the right authorisations to service your claims?
